Why we give.
Giving to the church is more than a financial act—it is an expression of worship and a reflection of our daily walk with God. When we bring our tithes and offerings, we acknowledge that every blessing comes from Him and joyfully return a portion as an act of gratitude and faith.

The Privilege of Giving
Tithing is both a command and a privilege for the believer. It is an act of obedience that acknowledges God’s ownership of all things and demonstrates our trust in His provision. The Bible says, “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine” (Proverbs 3:9–10, KJV). When we bring the first tenth of our income to God, we are putting Him first in our lives and declaring that He is our source.
The Promise of Giving
God attaches a promise to the tithe. In Malachi 3:10, He commands, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it” (KJV). Unlike many other commands, here God invites us to “prove” Him—to test His faithfulness—and He assures us that obedience will release His blessings in our lives.
The Purpose of Giving
Tithing also has a kingdom purpose. The tithe supports the work of the church, providing for the ministry, missions, and care of those in need. Just as the Levites in the Old Testament were sustained by the tithe (Numbers 18:21), today the church is strengthened by the faithful giving of God’s people. Through tithing, we join in God’s work of spreading the Gospel, meeting needs, and advancing His kingdom on earth.
